What do you think of Twitter’s Community Notes as an alternative to traditional third party fact checking? Do you think Threads will consider this approach?
One of the big advantages Threads has is its ability to leverage the existing Instagram infrastructure and network. So I imagine that fact checking on Threads will look similar to the implementation on Instagram, which has been around since 2019. If Meta were ever to experiment with a different approach to fact-checking, I imagine they'd want to test it on a more established app.
And a quick disclosure: I worked on Facebook's fact-checking program back in 2018/19.
