I understand that Twitter recently made its algorithm open source. Do you know why this decision was made and whether Threads will follow a similar approach? And if not, why?

As to why Twitter open sourced its algorithm, I can only speculate. According to Elon, the decision was intended to provide greater transparency into how the platform works and ultimately help improve the experience for users. But others have viewed the decision more critically, arguing that the open-sourced code isn't particularly useful without additional context on how the company is actually it.

As to whether Threads will follow a similar approach, it's highly unlikely! The Threads team will almost certainly be focused on user growth and retention for the foreseeable future.
